We ventured out this week for our first "long distance" trip with the boys...we were New Orleans bound!
We must say, the way we traveled is really the only way to travel...
Let me explain.
With Twins, we have learned the best way to travel is with an "Entourage" (i..e this means - several cars, bags, family, friends, etc prepped and ready for arrival and departure)!
So, we did just this.
Mimi and Mo packed up the Tahoe and drove to New Orleans a day in advance with all "Twin Necessities" in advance of our arrival. Yes, it is necessary to have a nap nanny, traveling swing, pack and plays, play mat, diapers, food, etc - you just don't leave home without these things :) for any period of time.
Mark, the boys and I took to the Friendly Skies on Saturday and showed up at the airport with the basics...
1. The BABIES (of course)
2. Stroller/Car Seats (bases had been previously sent)
3. 2 Diaper bags
and that's really it. We traveled light, even though it wasn't really "lite"!
*I would love to say here is a pic of the boys on thier first flight - but in total Mark/Jacqueline fashion we thought we were taking great photos, and we were even going to submit a few of the pics to Southwest and encourage them to update the "slogan" to "Babies Fly Free (Even Twins)" but we realized we had been videoing not snapping photos the entire time...
The Southwest flight was jam packed but of course the one empty seat left on the entire plane was on our row (We got a lot of "Oh my gosh they are adorbale" but I think I will sit somewhere else"! Mark and I high-fived, the boys took a bottle, slept and Boom we arrived in New Orleans) were our Entourage greeted us!
The Weekend was Fantastic! We spent time with family and we celebrated my Cousins wedding.
Congratulations to Amy & Shannon!
Mark and I even had our first "over night" venture away from the boys.
A Special, Special TEXAS SIZED Thanks goes to these sweet Sisters:
Sister Ilene, Sister Kateri, Melissa, and Aunt Margie
(Aunt Margie "recruited" these wonderful friends to play with the boys and babysit while we went to the wedding and enjoyed New Orleans night life!It should be noted they not only had Cash & Walker, but Brayden and Wesley too (can you say a little busy around that house?)
Of course before I left for the wedding, I told Melissa "Hey take some pictures tonight if you get a chance" :). I loved the response on Monday - "Are you Kidding Me, Like there was time for pictures!!"
We did find some time to take a few pictures (when we had the entire "Entourage" around)....
Thanks again to Our Entourage (that means Everyone) that made this trip such a success!
The Boys are ready for their next trip, so long as their Entourage is ready :), any takers?!
